Constructive techniques and the architectural solutions were developed and refined over the years, by means of trial-and-error processes, with the natural resources of the surroundings. These architectural solutions, transmitted from generation to generation, are solutions adapted to the climate and culture of each region, adapting materials and spaces to the surrounding environment.

Vernacular Architecture represents the basis of the principles now known as the Bioclimatic Architecture, the Passive Solar Architecture, the Eco-Architecture, the Ecological Architecture, among other. The concepts are translated from a time when there was no air conditioning and lighting systems, and the construction had to be efficient and appropriate to the region where it would be deployed.
